Russia’s Lukoil oil well in Komi Republic catches fire
MOSCOW, Apr 14 (PRIME) -- A well in Russia’s Komi Republic belonging to oil company Lukoil has caught fire, the flame height amounts to 20 meters, a source in the regional emergency services told PRIME on Friday.
“The jet fire of the well has reached a height of 20 meters,” the source said. He added that 185 firefighters are working on the site, using 84 units of equipment.
Affiliate of Lukoil, Lukoil-Komi said in a statement that the company puts the blame over the incident on a contractor which repaired the well, KomiQuest International.
The company said that the fire has caused no victims.
